THE COMMITTEE....
Having been established for over 40 years, we have a membership of base of around 60.
This was considered too large for all the members to participate in decisions affecting the organization as a whole, therefore, a constitution was established, and an organisational structure put in place where the committee is given power to make decisions to improve the running of the club. It is a good way to draw people from the club together utilising experience, sharing viewpoints, information and responsibilities.
Although there are only a certain number of people on the committee, every club member has equal voting rights and eligibility to be nominated for any post at the clubs AGM. Many people do not realise the personal sacrifice that the individual members of the committee give and the importance of the work that goes on in the background to make our club a success.
The running of our club could not be done without all the time and effort put in by all the current & honorary members, so it's only fair to 'name & shame' !!!
